Petzl is the unquestionable brand leader in headlamps. They invented their first one in 1972 at a
time when the idea of strapping a torch and battery to
a headband was seen as very innovative.
Using a headlamp frees your hands and shines light wherever and whenever you need it by directing
the beam to where you are looking.
Petzl headlamps are a must have accessory for making tricky jobs easier. They meet the demands of
numerous situations, from the most extreme mountaineering and cave exploration through to every
day jobs around the house or even reading a book in bed without the light on!
The majority of Petzl's range now employs LEDs. These produce a more brilliant light that actually
uses significantly less battery power. The LEDs themselves have life spans of up to 100000 hours burn
time!
The simplicity and diversity of the range create widespread interest. Our most popular lamps are
the Petzl TacTikka. This headlamp has a flip down red filter that helps maintain "camouflage" cover
at night for military personnel. The recent introduction of the Petzl E+Lite headlamp has also
generated much interest.

E99P Petzl Tikka XP2 (Ref E99P)
The TIKKA XP˛ headlamp integrates two light sources as well as a Wide Angle lens with a simple open-close feature, allowing the user to choose between a long distance focalized beam and flood beam proximity lighting. This headlamp is equipped with a white high-output LED and a red LED. The white LED delivers 60 lumens in maximum mode and lights up to 60 meters. In economic mode, it can reach a burn-time of 160 hours. The red LED provides lighting to preserve night vision or to become a blinking light for increased safety, for example in an urban environment, etc. TIKKA XP˛ can be used with lithium batteries to decrease weight or increase performance in cold weather.

The TIKKA PLUS˛ headlamp integrates two light sources for versatility: one white, high-output LED and one red LED. The white LED delivers 50 lumens in maximum mode and lights up to 35 meters. In economic mode, it can reach a burn-time of 140 hours. The red LED provides spare lighting to preserve night vision or to become a strobe light for increased safety, for example in an urban environment, etc.
The TIKKA PLUS˛ can be used with lithium batteries to decrease weight or increase performance in cold weather.

The Petzl TAC Tikka Plus is similar to the Tikka Plus. It has a flip-up red filter to reduce the dazzle of Petzl's bright LEDs and is designed for "tactical" activities. White LEDs suit map-reading and the red light it less obvious to people and helps to preserve "night vision".
