Snugpak Sleeping Bags

Snugpak was established in the late 70's following the American trend for body warmers. Following the early days manufacturing jackets, it was obvious that there was a need for products that had year round appeal. Sleeping bags were therefore the next logical choice.

By the late 80's Snugpak launched the first line of its now legendary Softie Sleeping bags; the Softie 6 and 12. These sleeping bags were the smallest synthetic filled, performance bags on the market and sales rocketed.

In 1989 the Softie 3 sleeping bag was launched and caused a sensation. A unique combination of insulation and a highly breathable space age reflective barrier gave 0°C performance from a sleeping bag that weighed 750grams and packed down to the size of a cantaloupe melon. Since its launch the Softie 3 sleeping bag has been used on every permanently inhabited continent.

The performance, lightweight, small pack sizes of the Snugpak Softie sleeping bags has made them firm favourites with the army and independent travellers.

The popularity of the range has been transferred across into the Sleeka jacket and most military personnel refer to their sleeping bag or insulated jacket as a "Softie" regardless if it is a Snugpak product or not! The expansion and introduction of the Softie Elite range has done nothing to dampen the demand for these sleeping bags.

Snugpak themselves are the only remaining company manufacturing low pack size performance sleeping bags in the UK and one of the few left producing cold weather clothing in Europe.
