Arktis's black Antartica fabric is Wool/Polyester 73%/27%. It is superbly light and warm, and has been a longstanding classic in the Arktis product line. Their green Antartica fabric is now all produced in the Flame Retardant Wool/Nomex 70%/30%. Because of the nature of the circular knitting process, the Nomex yarn forms the surface layer of fabric, with the brushed wool being the insulating inner layer. This is excellent for military use, affording some protection against melt hazard. The wool is hercoset treated to render it non-irritant.
The shirt is cut with a long tail to provide maximum warmth. The Thumb cuff is a design detail that provides the distinctive, thoughtful Arktis feature.
